SHAYKH MUSTAFA STYER

Mustafa Styer is an American-born, Oxford University-trained educator and researcher of Islamic Philosophy. Specializing in curriculum development from the University of London, Mustafa has devoted many years in developing an Islamic education curriculum in the UK. He has worked as head-teacher, deputy head, curriculum coordinator, and a teacher trainer in tarbiya for the Association of Muslim Schools UK established by Yusuf Islam. When the secretary of state encouraged Muslim schools to join the state system, he was seconded by the AMS to produce curriculum in Islamic music (Nashid), citizenship, and PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education) and produced a 99-Names Scheme. Mustafa began his traditional Islamic studies in Damascus in 1995 in the Department of Usul al-din at Abu Nour and attending the lessons of Sheikh ’Abd al-Rahman al-Shaghouri and others and now continues his studies in Konya learning the Ottoman syllabus from Sheikh Salih al-Ghursi. Mustafa splits his time between the UK and Konya, working as the Project Lead for LIFE while continuing his research as part of Tabah Foundation's Classification of the Sciences project.

DR. NAJAH NADI

Dr. Najah Nadi is a traditionally trained academic with over two decades of learning experiences and over a decade of teaching experience. Her research focuses on Islamic classical theories of knowledge across disciplines of philosophy, theology, law, and spirituality, as well as fatwas and fatwa institutions. Dr. Najah holds a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford, focusing on the scholarship of the immanent Persian polymath Saʿd al-Dīn al-Taftāzānī (d. 792/1390). She also holds an M.A. in Religious and Theological Studies from Boston University, as well as a B.A. in Islamic Studies from al-Azhar University in Cairo. Dr. Najah has completed several years of traditional training at al-Azhar Mosque, receiving teaching licenses (ijāzāt) in various Islamic sciences. Dr. Najah has served as a junior fellow at the Holberg seminar on Islamic history at Princeton University from 2015-2019, a fellow of peace and reconciliation at Virginia Theological Seminary from 2017-2021. Her teaching courses include Islamic legal theories, classical logic and ontology and Islamic spirituality and ethics.

DR. MUNEEB RASHEED

Dr Muneeb Rasheed lectures in computer science. His research interests include classical philosophy, philosophy of science and technology, and traditional paradigms of education.

USTADH JUBRIL ALAO

Jubril is an experienced Project Manager (PRINCE2 Practitioner, SAP Certified FI Consultant) with over 17 years of consulting experience at multiple multi-national corporations. He has also been teaching and developing Arabic curriculums for about fifteen years. He studied Economics at University College, London, where he subsequently completed a Masters degree in Computer Science. In 2002, he travelled to Syria to continue his studies where he then studied Arabic Literature and Poetry at the University of Damascus. Jubril continued his studies with Sheikh Babikr and Sheikh Ahmed Pirzada under whom he studied a variety of Islamic sciences.
